【摘要】:Liquidpenetrantexaminationmethodsindicatethepresence,location,and,toalimitedextent,thenatureandmagnitudeofthedetecteddiscontinuities.Thismethodisnormallyusedforproductioninspectionoflargevolumesofpartsorstructures,whereemphasisisonproductivity.Themethodenjoysawidelatitudeinapplicabilitywhenextensiveandcontrolledconditionsareavailable.Multiplelevelsofsensitivitycanbeachievedbyproperselectionofmaterialsandvariationsinprocess.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforwater-washablefluorescentpenetrantexaminationofmaterials.Itisanondestructivetestingmethodfordetectingdiscontinuitiesthatareopentothesurfacesuchascracks,seams,laps,coldshuts,laminations,isolatedporosity,throughleaks,orlackofporosityandisapplicabletoin-process,final,andmaintenanceexamination.Itcanbeeffectivelyusedintheexaminationofnonporous,metallicmaterials,bothferrousandnonferrous,andofnonmetallicmaterialssuchasglazedorfullydensifiedceramicsandcertainnonporousplasticsandglass.1.2Thistestmethodalsoprovidesareference:1.2.1Bywhichafluorescentpenetrantexaminationmethodusingthewater-washableprocessrecommendedorrequiredbyindividualorganizationscanbereviewedtoascertainitsapplicabilityandcompleteness.1.2.2Foruseinthepreparationofprocessspecificationsdealingwiththewater-washablefluorescentpenetrantexaminationofmaterialsandparts.Agreementbythepurchaserandthemanufacturerregardingspecifictechniquesisstronglyrecommended.1.2.3Foruseintheorganizationofthefacilitiesandpersonnelconcernedwiththeliquidpenetrantexamination.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotindicateorsuggeststandardsforevaluationoftheindicationsobtained.Itshouldbepointedout,however,thatindicationsmustbeinterpretedorclassifiedandthenevaluated.Forthispurposetheremustbeaseparatecodeorspecificationoraspecificagreementtodefinethetype,size,location,anddirectionofindicationsconsideredacceptable,andthoseconsideredunacceptable.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.SIunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.1.5Allareasofthisdocumentmaybeopentoagreementbetweenthecognizantengineeringorganizationandthesupplier,orspecificdirectionfromthecognizantengineeringorganization.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
