【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesinformationtoassistinjudgingthebiodegradabilityofanunusedfullyformulatedhydraulicfluidinitsoriginalform.Biodegradabilityisoneofthreecharacteristicswhichareassessedwhenjudgingtheenvironmentalimpactofahydraulicfluid.Theothertwocharacteristicsareecotoxicityandbioaccumulation.Biodegradabilitymaybeconsideredbytypeofenvironmentalcompartment:aerobicfreshwater,aerobicmarine,aerobicsoil,andanaerobicmedia.Testmethodsforaerobicfreshwater,aerobicsoilandanaerobicmediahavebeendevelopedthatareappropriatefortheconcernsandneedsoftestingineachcompartment.Thisguideaddressesreleasestotheenvironmentthatareincidentaltotheuseofahydraulicfluidbutisnotintendedtocoversituationsofmajor,accidentalrelease.Nothinginthisguideshouldbetakentorelievetheuseroftheresponsibilitytoproperlyuseanddisposeofhydraulicfluids.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
