【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheaveragedensityofaquantityofcoarseaggregateparticles(notincludingthevolumeofvoidsbetweentheparticles),therelativedensity(specificgravity),andtheabsorptionofthecoarseaggregate.Dependingontheprocedureused,thedensity(kg/m3(lb/ft3))isexpressedasoven-dry(OD),saturated-surface-dry(SSD),orasapparentdensity.Likewise,relativedensity(specificgravity),adimensionlessquantity,isexpressedasOD,SSD,orasapparentrelativedensity(apparentspecificgravity).TheODdensityandODrelativedensityaredeterminedafterdryingtheaggregate.TheSSDdensity,SSDrelativedensity,andabsorptionaredeterminedaftersoakingtheaggregateinwaterforaprescribedduration.1.2Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethedensityoftheessentiallysolidportionofalargenumberofaggregateparticlesandprovidesanaveragevaluerepresentingthesample.Distinctionismadebetweenthedensityofaggregateparticlesasdeterminedbythistestmethod,andthebulkdensityofaggregatesasdeterminedbyTestMethodC29/C29M,whichincludesthevolumeofvoidsbetweentheparticlesofaggregates.1.3Thistestmethodisnotintendedtobeusedwithlightweightaggregates.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardforconductingthetests.ThetestresultsfordensityshallbereportedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunits,asappropriatefortheusetobemadeoftheresults.1.5Thetextofthistestmethodreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthistestmethod.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
